Hurricane Lane Approaches Hawaii

The first bands of Hurricane Lane touched Hawaii’s Big Island on Tuesday, August 21, as the Central Pacific Hurricane Center issued hurricane watches for Maui and Hawaii counties. Lane was a Category 4 storm at 8am Tuesday, with top winds at 155 mph. The storm is expected to turn toward Hawaii on Wednesday. This video is the water vapor view from the GOES-West satellite.
