For Migrant Workers, Jobless Equals Homeless

The Epoch Times
The Epoch Times
There are roughly 2.8 million migrant workers in China, and they traditionally go to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou to look for job opportunities. The job market for these migrant workers in Shenzhen is a barometer of China’s manufacturing and construction industries. The “Down to Countryside Movement” was launched in the late 1960s during the Cultural Revolution. The CCP only focused on political movements while ignoring economic development after it took power. After two decades of political struggles, there were no jobs for educated youths in cities, so the Chinese regime ordered them to go to the countryside to “learn from the proletariats.” The netizen who posted this video says the regime is launching a similar movement again in a bid to solve the unemployment problem.
