An 11-year-old boy was swept into a storm drain while playing in a flooded ditch in Wisconsin. Emergency crews searched for 45 minutes hoping to find the boy, fearing to find his body. By sheer luck, the deputy fire chief saw a finger poking up through a hole in a manhole cover. Below the lid, the boy was clinging to a ladder. He had been swept 30 feet downstream and popped up in an air pocket.
