New Film on American Moon Landing Deletes American Flag to “Transcend Borders”: Report

A new movie about the moon landing has
omitted the American flag-planting.
"First Man" depicts Neil Armstrong and Buzz
Aldrin in the lead-up to the 1969 moon landing.
But omitted is the iconic moment Armstrong
planted the American flag on the moon.
Actor Ryan Gosling, a Canadian, and director Damien
Chazelle, a French-American, defended the omission.
"I think this was widely regarded in the
end as a human achievement,” Gosling said.
“That's how we chose to view it.” Chazelle claimed
the decision was not “a political statement.”
Some have called for a boycott over the film.
Others believe the decision was made
in an effort to get the film shown in China.
