Flowers from tanks and helicopters- Russian army marks Women's day

Raymond Liu
The International Women's day was marked in Russia by the creativity of the military, who staged on March 8 flash-mobs all around the country. Servicemen formed the number '8' with tanks, drew hearts on snow and even parachuted from the sky to bring Russian women flowers and congratulations. International Women's Day was started in the early 1900s by labour movements campaigning for women's work rights in North America and across Europe. March 8 is now one of the most popular holidays in Russia Credit: Reuters
