Cincinnati Zoo Welcomes Fourth Raggiana Bird-of-Paradise Chick

Chris Jasurek
Paradise has arrived at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Well actually, just a bird of paradise. The zoo posted on Facebook that a Raggiana Bird-of-paradise chick has hatched there—the fourth in Zoo history. The birds are notoriously difficult to breed— The Cincinnati Zoo is one of only two Association of Zoos and Aquariums facilities to have managed to breed them successfully. This video, of the Raggiana chick being hand fed, has stimulated over 1,500 reactions on Facebook already.
