This dog's ice skills will give you pause

He's a shelter dog who was set to be put down before a woman adopted him and introduced him to the usually non-canine friendly pursuit of ice skating. Las Vegas resident Cheryl Del Sangro saw a photo of Benny, a Labrador retriever, soon after he was rescued from a kill shelter and knew he was meant to be hers. She filled out the necessary paperwork and brought him home, where she already had three dogs to bond with him. Del Sangro learned that Benny was a very teachable animal and decided to try him out on the ice. She had, after all, taught ice skating for over 20 years and somehow thought Benny would make a good student. Outfitting him with a pair of 'custom made' skates for his paws, Del Sangro soon had her four legged friend gracefully gliding along the ice. As the now 6-year-old Benny has gone to wearing skates only on his front paws, he has improved so much that Del Sangro has now set her sights on convincing the local NHL franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, to take him on as a mascot, filming a video to show off his skills.
