Large Numbers of Migrant Workers At a Loss After Layoffs

The Epoch Times
The Epoch Times
In the past years in China, if you saw a large gathering of migrant workers, they were either going home to celebrate the Chinese New Year, or returning to work after the New Year holiday. However, this video taken in late April shows thousands of migrant workers jobless in a big city. After the companies they worked for announced layoffs, they were left homeless, gathered around a public plaza carrying their belongings in suitcases. They seem to be at a loss. China’s economy is highly reliant on international trade. With western countries struggling amid the CCP virus pandemic and losing trust in a regime that has lied, export-dependent Chinese companies are losing their international customers. According to "Tianyancha," a commercial database that compiles public records, 26,000 foreign trade companies in China have applied for deregistration or had their licenses revoked in the first quarter of 2020.
