Pregnant mother, family saved from Florence floods
A family, including an eight-months pregnant mother, a four-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son, were rescued from severe flooding brought on by Storm Florence on Sunday (September 16).
The family, which also included the children's father, a 60-year-old uncle, and the family dog, had been holding onto trees about 100 yards (91.4 meters) apart from 4:00am until around 8:00am when they were rescued by the Wild Florida team.
The Wild Florida team told Reuters: "They had been hanging there for 4 hours and had started to prepare to die. Accepted the fact that nobody could rescue them! I'm so glad we could make it happen."
