Doctors said the supplement damaged his liver, and he needed an emergency transplant. The next day he had surgery to save his life. It’s now been four years, and he still has health issues, including kidney problems. Experts say modest green tea drinking is safe, but concentrated extracts may pose problems. The safety of the supplement hasn’t been tested. Other people have also reported ill effects.
