A young man suspected of using a deadly firearm at one of the nation's first public universities on April 30 was a former student, North Carolina authorities have revealed. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has arrested Trystan Terrell, 22, for questioning after a gunman opened fire at the University of North Carolina's (UNC's) Charlotte campus, killing two white males, sending two to the hospital for life-threatening injuries, and wounding another two with non life-threatening injuries.
