Expanding Government Powers Bring Concerns of Tyranny

G
Gina Sturdza
The Intercept recently published a story titled “Under Cover of Mass Death, Andrew Cuomo Calls in the Billionaires to Build a High-Tech Dystopia.” The story outlines new government programs being created during the new coronavirus pandemic that include new forms of surveillance and new forms of technology for online schooling; and it captures a growing concern shown across the United States that expanding government powers may last beyond the current crisis. To get a better understanding of this situation, we speak with Dustin Bass, co-host of The Sons of History and a contributing writer to The Epoch Times. He explains historical cases of crisis legislation, and shows how new powers created are rarely done away with completely once the incidents end. These stories and more in this episode of Crossroads.
