Traffic sign in Australia falls, crushes car and injures driver
An overhead road sign crashed onto a freeway in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday (January 8), crushing a vehicle and injuring the female driver, local media reported.
The metal sign measuring 5 metres (16.4 ft) by 4 metres (13.1 ft) was part welded and bolted to the overhead barrier when it fell during the evening peak hour traffic.
The road was reopened later in the evening with authorities launching an investigation but deeming the freeway safe.
The female driver remains in hospital and in a stable condition, according to local media.
