Anti-Kremlin Activist Apparently Poisoned in Moscow
Russian anti-Kremlin activist Pyotr Verzilov was
apparently poisoned on Sept. 11.
The political dissident was flown to a Berlin hospital
for treatment, which doctors think saved his life.
The doctor in charge explained the case at a
press conference at Berlin’s Charite hospital.
Verzilov was poisoned with a chemical that
shut down parts of his nervous system.
Verzilov was part of Pussy Riot, which is strongly
opposed to President Vladimir Putin.
His girlfriend, a fellow activist, claimed it might
have been an assassination attempt.
