Third Shark Attack in 2 Months Kills Man in the Whitsundays

2018-11-06 07:35
A man, 33, died in hospital after being bitten by a shark in the waters of Cid Harbour in the Whitsundays, Queensland, on Monday, November 5. The victim, from Victoria, was attacked by a shark during a boat trip with nine other people. He was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital but later died due to substantial blood loss and severe injuries. This came less than two months after two shark attacks reported with 24 hours in the same waters in September. One of the victims, a 12-year-old girl, lost her right leg. The ABC interviewed paramedics who said Monday’s incident was the “worst one yet”. Credit: Queensland Police Service via Storyful
